Hosted at the Indian School of Business, the forum included keynote speakers and interactive workshops with the delegates and prominent representatives of over ten companies that currently hold global partnerships with AIESEC. Ajit Rangnekar, Dean of the Indian School of Business, praised AIESEC’s initiative during his welcome speech, saying “The topics being discussed by these young leaders now align perfectly with the issues that business leaders will face in the future.”

The ISB announced three scholarships of $20,000 each to encourage the international students from the AIESEC community to study at the ISB. The keynote speaker was Anand Pillai Senior Vice President and Global Head of Quality, Talent Transformation and “Intrapreneurship” Development at HCL.

On the topic of staying motivated as members of a leadership development organization, he explained, “Youth leaders must constantly be re-evaluating and raising their standards, year after year, even if objectives and goals have been achieved.

Highlighted speakers included Miranda Ash, Global Director of the WorldBlu Community, who commended AIESEC for being one of the top companies to be given the honor of Most Democratic Workplace by saying, “Democratic workplaces build better societies – the most democratic workplaces have the most power to affect change within their environment.” Speeches were also given by David Bacon, Founder of Carpets for Communities and an AIESEC alumnus, and Nirvana Cable, Global Sufficiency Provocateur of ‘FOUR YEARS. GO.’

In addition to the conference delegates, who came from all 107 countries in the AIESEC network, ISB students also joined in on the discussions.

The three focus areas of the forum were Harnessing Youth Innovation, Labor Mobility and Diversity, and Responsible Corporate Behaviors. Featured partners that held workshops around these areas included Tata Consultancy Services, Alcatel-Lucent, Deutsche Post DHL, Vale, Husqvarna, Education First, Quest Alliance, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Future Considerations, Unilever, and Electrolux. The output of the event’s sessions and discussions will be released in a special publication in partnership with the Wall Street Journal Europe.

The 62^nd AIESEC International Congress is the largest international youth summit ever held in India. The conference began on August 23^rd and has successfully brought 700 young leaders from over 107 countries together to analyze the current state of the world, global issues, and emerging trends. The summit is an annual congregation of AIESEC, the world’s largest student-run, not-for-profit organization that aims to foster global understanding through international experiences and leadership development. The conference has already seen and celebrated a highly successful Opening Ceremony and various corporate partner launches.
